From Russia with Love

For some reason, bad news seem to follow us kitties frequently.
First, Maxi died.
Then, Angel got lost after an evening stroll. We missed her so much and she is irreplaceable. We talked about her all the time, hoping that she will come home one day.
Worst of all, Pepi, our British shorthair ventured out of our home and into the neighbour's compound and she got attacked by a some fierce dogs.

So, it's back to Princess and Popi, our Scottish fold.
Other owners have cats for years and we seem to be losing ours unfortunately.
After Pepi disastrous and fatal venture outside, our human father fenced up everything so the cats are indoor at all times.

Some pictures to all..
So, here's Popi after staying with us for 2 months.
He has grown A LOT. His favourite is raw beef and he's on a mixed diet, raw and some mixture of canned (cutting down a lot now), and very little kibbles.
Popi is super fun and full of energy. Loves being around people, always in the kitchen (every cat's fav place) and jumps really high.  He has huge eyes that stares forever and very friendly, though you can't hold him for too long. Popi came all the way from Thailand. Folds are not easy to find here and they are expensive.

Our latest addition is another British shorthair.
Mummy said he's 'From Russia with Love...' after that famous Bond movie, why?
Because he came all the way from Russia :)
He's about 3 months and super, duper friendly.
After the initial hissing and being cautious among us 3 kitties, by day 3, he is out of the cage and roaming around with us. He really LOVES being around people all the time. The friendliest among 3 of us for now, he will sit still and let anyone stroke him till he falls asleep.
Mummy calls him an 'eating machine'..because, he really eats a lot! Raw or cooked, he is fine.
He is now into his 6th day with us and gets along very well with every kitty and human.
British shorthair are another cat that is available but not abundant over here, so he did cost the family a humongous amount of money.

Finally, I am pretty happy with the company so far. We have the entire house to ourselves, so we practically roam everywhere whenever we want to. There is a plan for an outdoor permanent space for us. For now, we spend every morning and evening in an outdoor cage, but the family wants us to have a larger space complete plants and must be near the fish pond.

For now, I am the only Persian at home, the other two Shorthairs are boisterous and play a lot.
For me, its snooze time most of the day.

Some after thoughts from our human family:
Cat business is BIG business.  We do see a few family owned business breeding their cats with love and care as if they are part of the family. Unfortunately, we see too many back yard breeders who breed just for the money, nothing else. Cats were caged up 24/7/365 and looked sickly, there living only for one reason : to re-produce and the kittens are sold for a whatever profit that can be made.  We can only hope they get into a loving home.

Till then...meow :)

WRESLTING TIME

Pepi insisted on wearing the crown even though I am the Princess.
She made me wear this ugly mask...urgghhhh....
..but it wont be long...

FAVOURITE SPOT AT HOME

JACK, our Scottish fold

So, the family finally named the new cat, Jack.
For a few days, he had no name. They had a huge problem figuring what to name him and settled with Jack.
Oh...the list of names that was offered was totally ridiculous, but Jack it is for our Fold.

No more cold reception for Jack.
After 3 days of starring competition, he is now well adapted into our home.
He plays (a lot), sleep and eat with us.
He is like this super charged rocket with endless energy. However, he has a little sniffle and sneeze.
So, off they both went to the vet. Yep, Pepi and Jack!
Hooray for me, my shots are not due yet.
Mom said they were really worried in their carrier and protested, but it's no point.
The shots were and medicine were delivered, with or without protest.
Above, you can see Pepi grooming Jack. She does a few times every day.
I think Pepi is the motherly cat among us. She likes to groom all of us.
We don't mind actually.

So, here is Jack.
Happily settled down into our home.
He has this beautiful cream coat with a white-powdery looking face.

NEW CAT :)

Our cat family is growing.
We have a new cat now....he's a Scottish Fold with funny ears.

Here he is...
He was in the cage on the first day, but he was let out every time the human family is at home.
A super charged-hyper active cat!! Can't stay still at all.
In no time, he really thinks this is his home.

Not much welcoming party from Pepi and I...
We gave him the cold shoulder most of the time.
For sure, there was a LOT of starring competition for the first 2 days.

More starring competition...
This time it's Pepi and me...opposite him..
He's not afraid though...he seems happy exploring the entire house.

Well, that's the highlight of the past few days.  We are slowly warming up to him. He isn't bothered with us actually, he seems such a happy cat jumping and running everywhere. Pepi seems to warm up to him better...me, I stay away for now. As long as there is no shortage of food, I can live with him.

BIRTHDAY

It's not my birthday yet.
But, I want to wish a special girl.
She is celebrating her 15th Birthday this weekend.
May she be happy and feed me more always.

SILLY TALK

With 2 cats down and everyone slowly accepting, and life returning to normal, Pepi and I have become good friends.
We goof around, share food and play a lot.
Here's what happened yesterday..

Pepi is just jealous I got the crown.  Okay, that moustache is really silly but we needed it to humour our human family :)

Meowie....love, Princess

More cats dilemma?

It's more than a week gone now and the chances of finding Angel seems to be fading away.
There is not one day we do not miss her.
Not one day we do not find her.
We wondered what happened to her.
She has been so close to us, so the chances of her just running away and leaving us seems impossible.
It's not easy for anyone to catch her too.
Maybe she had an accident :((
If she was captured by someone, we hope the new family will love her as we do.

Meanwhile....

We are down to 2 cats.
Our cats dilemma continued.
Baby...or now more frequently called, Pepi is growing up fast. Healthy and good.
She was supposed to be a British Shorthair. That's what the breeder said.
We do have our doubts - huge ones. While she looks like one, her fur is nowhere like one.
While the humans pondered over her breed, Pepi really could not care less.
As long as the food keeps coming, she seems very happy.

We have a new toy...more about that later.

A TRIBUTE TO MAXI, ANGEL AND SAD TIMES HERE

It has been really sad times at our home for the past 2 weeks.

My best buddy, Maxi, died.
He was okay one day and then, the next day, he was gone.
He didn't even make it to the vet.

Here are some infor on our Maxi.
He was the only male cat at home.
Here is Maxi at his favourite spot at home, always under some cabinet..

Maxi is always at this same spot in Mummy's room at night.
No cat or human can occupy this space.
He will wrestle with any cats who tried to steal this spot.

Maxi is the softest, kindest and loving cat ever.
Any person who sees him said the same word : adorable!
He was also the biggest cat with the fluffiest fur!
Healthy appetite and loves to sleep.

Maxi is also knows as Mr Squishy nose..the most flat faced Persians we have known so far.
Big size apart, he is really a huge teddy bear.
He loves food and is the kindest cat in our home.
Maxi hates eye cleaning which all Persians have to do!
He will close his eyes tightly and know it's eyes cleaning time.

Here's Maxi and his bushy tail.
We cats like to bully him and bite his tail sometimes.
He rarely fights back but always ran away to hide under bookshelves or more cabinets.

Here is Maxi and me.
We have both came a long.
As Persians, we are the closest and always are together.
The family missed him a lot.
The family loves him and I love you too, Maxi.
We know you will have plenty of kibbles in Kitty heaven.
You will forever be in our hearts.
Maxi has been buried within our home compound, so though he is no longer around, he is always still close to us.
Goodbye, Maxi my wrestling partner.

AND, if losing Maxi was bad.
Our bad luck didn't end there in just losing a kitty.

Our American Shorthair, Angel, went missing for the 2nd time.
She was lost once, but came back home after 2 days.
After that time, she is always around house.
She still goes out everyday to catch cockraches and geckos for the other cats..., but she always comes home without fail.
However, this time, she is missing for more than 5 days. Longest ever.
We are all confident she did not run away because she has her daily routine.
Morning walk, home, evening walk, but always at night without fail.
Always sleeping next to Mummy. Doing her kitty massage on her lap at times. Or getting her head rub every night.
Angel was most attached to Mummy because they have this special bond at night.
Come home soon Angel. We are down to 2 kitties for now 'sob'sob'.
We can never be angry with Angel. One look at her green eyes and everyone's heart will be melted...
Sad times continue....

Both humans and cats loved both of them so much.
We doubt if any other cats can ever replace them, they hold such special place in our hearts.

RIP Maxi.
Come home soon Angel.

For now, we are down to 2 kitties only :(

Maxi says....

Hello all

Maxi and I have been lazing around.
The weather is super hot here nowadays.
We like to sleep under the cabinets, shelves, beds, chairs...anywhere that is cool.

However, Maxi favourite place is in this air conditioned room. He can laze here forever...and ever.
After a few shy months, he no longer hides away from the human family.
He's all out in the open.
Parading his belly all the time.

Moeow....we'll be back soon :)

MUSINGS

I would like to tell you about myself.
I was the first cat.
I was the cat-lover-converter. Means, the whole family was not into cat, until I converted them.
I have that special powers to make people love me, and my fellow felines at home.
I am still the head of the house.

I remembered when I first came home.
They all went to choose me and I was in this little cage inside the house.
Mummy was the last person to know there was a cat.
Yep, she had quite a shock to see me inside the house.
Her first words were..."what an ugly cat!!"
What me? An ugly cat?

So, this was me when I was just a few days at home. I thought I was cute.
Mummy didn't.
Thank goodness everyone else loved me even then.

I used to sleep with Mummy. That was my secret weapon. Not long after, she loves me.
Here's her favourite shot of me sleeping when I was a little kitten.

Then months went by and I grew.
A lot more! So, to prove how much I have grown in the past 7 months since staying with my human family, I post a before (kitten time - age 2.5 months) and now picture (almost 10 months).
Now, mummy never calls me ugly anymore.
They do have many other funny names they call me, but I don't care as long as the food keeps coming :)
After a bout of fungus and losing a lot of my kitten fur, it grew more, softer, thicker and denser.
Okay, okay...I wasn't so cute as a little kitten.
I am way better now :)
Don't you think so?

Bye for now....
Love, Princess

MAXI

Mummy's been complaining.
One cat has been playing with her stuff on the table.
She leaves them neat and comes come to things being shuffled.
She said ..."must be you, Princess!"
..but I protested! It was certainly not me!!

Then, we found the culprit!!
Sleeping on the table most days when no one is at home...

I knew it was you Maxi!

Maxi says " yeah! yeah! So what? Now leave me alone!"

We have a long weekend for Chinese New Year.
Now that means the human family is at home.
Also means more food for us.
We heard there's a BBQ going on, so bet that's going to be good too :)

Bye!

Tuesday 5 February 2013

My spot!

There is this one particular special spot at Mummy's room downstairs.
It's has air condition, and it's Maxi's favourite spot!

Here was what happened:

Maxi : Hey! Princess move away, that is my spot!!
Princess: No way!

Maxi: Now you leave me no choice but to wrestle with you !!
Princess: I will take my chances!!

....5 minutes later..

...15minutes later...still wrestling...longest session ever...

And...finally, Maxi won :(
Yeah...he looked pretty happy and smug!

I am boycotting you now Maxi.
I find another buddy in Baby now, she doesn't wrestle with me over spots.

BATH TIME AND ANGEL

Bath time.
We dont like it but we had to have it.
The first few times was a nightmare.
I scratched mummy till the gloves were in shreds :(
My buddy below, Maxi...well, he pooped in the water for the first time.
Over the months. It improved...a lot..much to the relief of our human family.
Here's Maxi enjoying his bath. He doesn't even move or struggle much, just sitting pretty in the tub.

Maxi after bath time. Okay, maybe he was a bit grumpy but no struggle :)

Baby being the newest member had a tougher time in the tub.
Not happy too but she'll get used to it.

Here's me watching telly with Miss Em. We are great buddies as we are all here because she loves us cats the most. The rest of the family are cat-lover-converts now. Mummy said I am putting on weight well and looking very much like my buddy, Maxi.  Maybe but I am prettier :)

Everyone had a bath, except Angel.
She came back from the Vet after spending 3 days there.
She has been spayed and recovering really well.
Her wound is clean and dry but she protested for wearing the COLLAR.
However, she is a really, really good girl for coping so well.

Here she is lazing under the rays of sunshine.
Life at home is back to normal now.
Angel is no longer 'on heat' and driving us cats and human bonkers with her non-stop wailing.
She no longer dash out of the door at the first opportunity.
She no longer jump on every counter looking for an opened window.
She no longer pees everywhere at home.
She no longer raise her butt in an unlady like manner.
She no longer runs away from home. She did that 2 times before.
So, finally, we are all happy.

No sun-lounging for me.
Us Persians like to sleep a lot and anywhere cool is fine.
Here's a favourite spot at Mum's room downstairs.
Maxi and I love it because on hot afternoons, the air condition is on :)

Bye for now :)
Princess

STAYING OUT

Yesterday was a public holiday.
We love holidays at it means the human family are at home.
Also mean we get to be outdoors more. Fresh air and lots of birds watching.
It was a perfect day. It rained and the air was cooling.

Maxi was not happy with the previous post.
He protested.
'why didn't Mummy clean my eyes before posting the photo?'
So, here he is...after cleaned eyes and fur combed.

 Maxi.

Maxi:, Mr Squishy nose, close up :)

10 minutes later and he is sleeping...it was raining, lovely cool weather!

Princess: Where are the birds?

Oh! there they are..come nearer..birdie :)

Raining days are perfect for sleeping outdoors. We are missing one cat, Angel. She has gone for an ops at the vet.

Bye for now :)
