A TRIBUTE TO MAXI, ANGEL AND SAD TIMES HERE

It has been really sad times at our home for the past 2 weeks.

My best buddy, Maxi, died.
He was okay one day and then, the next day, he was gone.
He didn't even make it to the vet.

Here are some infor on our Maxi.
He was the only male cat at home.
Here is Maxi at his favourite spot at home, always under some cabinet..

Maxi is always at this same spot in Mummy's room at night.
No cat or human can occupy this space.
He will wrestle with any cats who tried to steal this spot.

Maxi is the softest, kindest and loving cat ever.
Any person who sees him said the same word : adorable!
He was also the biggest cat with the fluffiest fur!
Healthy appetite and loves to sleep.

Maxi is also knows as Mr Squishy nose..the most flat faced Persians we have known so far.
Big size apart, he is really a huge teddy bear.
He loves food and is the kindest cat in our home.
Maxi hates eye cleaning which all Persians have to do!
He will close his eyes tightly and know it's eyes cleaning time.

Here's Maxi and his bushy tail.
We cats like to bully him and bite his tail sometimes.
He rarely fights back but always ran away to hide under bookshelves or more cabinets.

Here is Maxi and me.
We have both came a long.
As Persians, we are the closest and always are together.
The family missed him a lot.
The family loves him and I love you too, Maxi.
We know you will have plenty of kibbles in Kitty heaven.
You will forever be in our hearts.
Maxi has been buried within our home compound, so though he is no longer around, he is always still close to us.
Goodbye, Maxi my wrestling partner.

AND, if losing Maxi was bad.
Our bad luck didn't end there in just losing a kitty.

Our American Shorthair, Angel, went missing for the 2nd time.
She was lost once, but came back home after 2 days.
After that time, she is always around house.
She still goes out everyday to catch cockraches and geckos for the other cats..., but she always comes home without fail.
However, this time, she is missing for more than 5 days. Longest ever.
We are all confident she did not run away because she has her daily routine.
Morning walk, home, evening walk, but always at night without fail.
Always sleeping next to Mummy. Doing her kitty massage on her lap at times. Or getting her head rub every night.
Angel was most attached to Mummy because they have this special bond at night.
Come home soon Angel. We are down to 2 kitties for now 'sob'sob'.
We can never be angry with Angel. One look at her green eyes and everyone's heart will be melted...
Sad times continue....

Both humans and cats loved both of them so much.
We doubt if any other cats can ever replace them, they hold such special place in our hearts.

RIP Maxi.
Come home soon Angel.

For now, we are down to 2 kitties only :(

Maxi says....

Hello all

Maxi and I have been lazing around.
The weather is super hot here nowadays.
We like to sleep under the cabinets, shelves, beds, chairs...anywhere that is cool.

However, Maxi favourite place is in this air conditioned room. He can laze here forever...and ever.
After a few shy months, he no longer hides away from the human family.
He's all out in the open.
Parading his belly all the time.

Moeow....we'll be back soon :)

MAXI

Mummy's been complaining.
One cat has been playing with her stuff on the table.
She leaves them neat and comes come to things being shuffled.
She said ..."must be you, Princess!"
..but I protested! It was certainly not me!!

Then, we found the culprit!!
Sleeping on the table most days when no one is at home...

I knew it was you Maxi!

Maxi says " yeah! yeah! So what? Now leave me alone!"

We have a long weekend for Chinese New Year.
Now that means the human family is at home.
Also means more food for us.
We heard there's a BBQ going on, so bet that's going to be good too :)

Bye!

My spot!

There is this one particular special spot at Mummy's room downstairs.
It's has air condition, and it's Maxi's favourite spot!

Here was what happened:

Maxi : Hey! Princess move away, that is my spot!!
Princess: No way!

Maxi: Now you leave me no choice but to wrestle with you !!
Princess: I will take my chances!!

....5 minutes later..

...15minutes later...still wrestling...longest session ever...

And...finally, Maxi won :(
Yeah...he looked pretty happy and smug!

I am boycotting you now Maxi.
I find another buddy in Baby now, she doesn't wrestle with me over spots.

CATS ON TUESDAY

Maxi has something to say.

A message to the kiddies at home.

I AM A PERSIAN.

I am NOT an American curl breed.

Therefore....

STOP PLAYING WITH MY EARS !!

(no...I have not been hurt by this...they get unfolded in 5 seconds anyway...)

Now, where is my salmon in exchange for letting you take this photo?

Bye...Maxi... ^o^

Go to Cats on Tuesday to see the rest of the cats :)

PERSIANS AND A MISSING CAT

Maxi is the only male in our feline family, and the biggest in size.
However, he is a real sweet heart and the most gentle of all.
As Persians, we always stick together...and I do mean...together.

We are both orange-y in colour. So, many times our human family are confused on who is who. Except that I am smaller with white socks, they sometimes call us the wrong name.
Here I am with sleepyhead, Maxi. Can you spot us?

Those white socks are mine! Otherwise, you cannot really see the difference between us when we are hugging together...or when we are wrestling.  And, we wrestle a lot!

Nope, apart from the face...we both look like one big tangled orange-y kitties.

Talking about kitties. Angel has been sneaking out of the house through the windows.
Our human family is not very happy with her roaming and she has done that almost every alternate day.
They tried remembering to close the window, but there are so many at home.
Unfortunately, for now, she has ran away and nowhere to be found :((
She is the only kitty that is totally on her own. She doesn't join us in any play time and doesn't like to be held by anyone. Let's hope she will find her way home as Mummy is losing hope of her coming back :((

Here's me and Angel having a face-off. We aren't buddies yet..
She only likes to play with Baby, our Brit shorthair. Maybe it's something to do with longhair works better with the long, and shorthair pairs better with the same kind.
Don't mind my scruffy fur...just woke up from my beauty sleep.

We will update soon on poor Angel. She's not my 'wrestling partner' for now..but I do hope she is safe and back home.

Love, Princess  ^oo^

CHOW TIME - Gourmet kitty food

Ever since Mummy got hold of Andi Brown's The Whole Pet Diet website and experimented with home cooked holistic food, we've been eating very well.
Our canned wet food have been reducing.
We are no longer just salmon or tuna canned food kitties.
We are now exposed to a huge variety of food.
We had home made pureed vegetable salmon which was great.
We had Andi's Chicken Stew which was so good.
Then over the weekend, we had even more new food introduced.

Mummy made sure we do not eat canned food with 'by products', meaning every part of an animal is being thrown in, all grinded and mashed up to taste good but not of quality.
Believing that good food is important for us kitties, we are not blessed with more 'gourmet choices kitty food'.
Food made from human grade and good enough for the family to eat, therefore, definitely good enough for us.

Here is what we had:
Using Andi's same recipe of vegetables, instead of chicken, we had beef stew !!
It was so good, we had to share it with the human family. Now, that's the main problem with human grade food....

Here's Maxi having a go.

The pink bows says it all :)  Super yummy and gone in a flash.

And...we do mean, gone in a flash!!  More food please! Children: stop eating our beef stew too!

Our foodie journey continues.  Today, with chicken and beef stew in the freezer, we tried something new. Plain boiled chicken and clear soup. Yep! Gone in minutes.

There you have it. Our wet food intake more of home cooked food.
We still do have the canned ones for 'emergency' situation. In fact, we seem to be eating much less dry food but in desperate times, we still do chow down on the kibbles.

Here's Maxi playing in the children's book shelf.  We certainly look forward to everyone to be home.
The children get us to accompany them everywhere they go at home.
Looking comfy eh...Maxi. He is at his shortest fur ever after the 2nd grooming.
Mummy said, trim everything except his bushy tail.

Me? I am feeling really full and sleepy after all this food testing.

Furry-ly yours, Princess :)

MUSINGS

Kibbles are always second on our food list.
We get to chow down on wet food twice a day. Human Mummy says we are too spoilt, but that's true.  Please spoil us to the max when it comes to food.
On top of canned wet food, quite often we get the real deal.  Cooked meat and in this case, minced meat with salmon ! Super yummy !  Thanks Mummy, we all love you and in return, we will continue to contribute more cuteness to the household. Here's what we had recently for dinner.

While both Maxi and I are not hyper active like the Shorthairs, we get our playtime often whenever the kids are at home.  We don't have much choice anyway, they like to hold, pat, stroke and fondle us all over. We are that cute! So, cuteness have some drawback obviously :((
Here's Maxi with the big Boy at home. He doesn't like playing with the big Boy.
Big Boy likes to play superman with Maxi at times...but good ol' Maxi is always up for a challenge.
Don't worry, Maxi was not hurt in any of the playtime...he just wriggle around most of the time if he doesn't like it.

Maxi: See people, I can stand!

Maxi: See, now I can fly too!! Give me a cape and I will be Superman (no underwear please, we cats  like to be all natural ...)

So, that's all folks for now. It's been a busy week for us cats. Lots of playtime.  Oh ya...I got a leash!
Mummy says the day on bathtime, I can walk outside with a leash. For weeks I have been planning my escape with no success :( Wait for me birdie, I am coming for you soon.

Furry-ly yours, Princess

MUSINGS

Weekday musings from Princess. At first, it was just me.
Then there is Maxi. Here he is as usual - sleeping - nothing else matters.
He can sleep anywhere in the house.
Here peeking from a chair. He looked uncomfortable, but still sleeping.

Sleeping on anyone's lap. He doesn't care. He'll probably thinks your lap is a pillow.

Slowly waking up and opening his small little slit eyes.
You lose when in comes to eyes Maxi! You can't beat me :)
He's just all hairy, furry and bushy tail, but so lovable !!

Our feline space is getting crowded. We have another cat, but that's another post later.
I have lots of stuff going through my head now. Why are they all here? We do have loads of kibbles and food aplenty...but still, is more good? I gotta think about all these stuff, life used to be just about kibbles but now seems not the priority.  My human family kept telling me they love me. That I am special because I was the first cat...but I have a feeling that is still not enough.

Furry-ly yours, Princess :(
