From Russia with Love

For some reason, bad news seem to follow us kitties frequently.
First, Maxi died.
Then, Angel got lost after an evening stroll. We missed her so much and she is irreplaceable. We talked about her all the time, hoping that she will come home one day.
Worst of all, Pepi, our British shorthair ventured out of our home and into the neighbour's compound and she got attacked by a some fierce dogs.

So, it's back to Princess and Popi, our Scottish fold.
Other owners have cats for years and we seem to be losing ours unfortunately.
After Pepi disastrous and fatal venture outside, our human father fenced up everything so the cats are indoor at all times.

Some pictures to all..
So, here's Popi after staying with us for 2 months.
He has grown A LOT. His favourite is raw beef and he's on a mixed diet, raw and some mixture of canned (cutting down a lot now), and very little kibbles.
Popi is super fun and full of energy. Loves being around people, always in the kitchen (every cat's fav place) and jumps really high.  He has huge eyes that stares forever and very friendly, though you can't hold him for too long. Popi came all the way from Thailand. Folds are not easy to find here and they are expensive.

Our latest addition is another British shorthair.
Mummy said he's 'From Russia with Love...' after that famous Bond movie, why?
Because he came all the way from Russia :)
He's about 3 months and super, duper friendly.
After the initial hissing and being cautious among us 3 kitties, by day 3, he is out of the cage and roaming around with us. He really LOVES being around people all the time. The friendliest among 3 of us for now, he will sit still and let anyone stroke him till he falls asleep.
Mummy calls him an 'eating machine'..because, he really eats a lot! Raw or cooked, he is fine.
He is now into his 6th day with us and gets along very well with every kitty and human.
British shorthair are another cat that is available but not abundant over here, so he did cost the family a humongous amount of money.

Finally, I am pretty happy with the company so far. We have the entire house to ourselves, so we practically roam everywhere whenever we want to. There is a plan for an outdoor permanent space for us. For now, we spend every morning and evening in an outdoor cage, but the family wants us to have a larger space complete plants and must be near the fish pond.

For now, I am the only Persian at home, the other two Shorthairs are boisterous and play a lot.
For me, its snooze time most of the day.

Some after thoughts from our human family:
Cat business is BIG business.  We do see a few family owned business breeding their cats with love and care as if they are part of the family. Unfortunately, we see too many back yard breeders who breed just for the money, nothing else. Cats were caged up 24/7/365 and looked sickly, there living only for one reason : to re-produce and the kittens are sold for a whatever profit that can be made.  We can only hope they get into a loving home.

Till then...meow :)

JACK, our Scottish fold

So, the family finally named the new cat, Jack.
For a few days, he had no name. They had a huge problem figuring what to name him and settled with Jack.
Oh...the list of names that was offered was totally ridiculous, but Jack it is for our Fold.

No more cold reception for Jack.
After 3 days of starring competition, he is now well adapted into our home.
He plays (a lot), sleep and eat with us.
He is like this super charged rocket with endless energy. However, he has a little sniffle and sneeze.
So, off they both went to the vet. Yep, Pepi and Jack!
Hooray for me, my shots are not due yet.
Mom said they were really worried in their carrier and protested, but it's no point.
The shots were and medicine were delivered, with or without protest.
Above, you can see Pepi grooming Jack. She does a few times every day.
I think Pepi is the motherly cat among us. She likes to groom all of us.
We don't mind actually.

So, here is Jack.
Happily settled down into our home.
He has this beautiful cream coat with a white-powdery looking face.

NEW CAT :)

Our cat family is growing.
We have a new cat now....he's a Scottish Fold with funny ears.

Here he is...
He was in the cage on the first day, but he was let out every time the human family is at home.
A super charged-hyper active cat!! Can't stay still at all.
In no time, he really thinks this is his home.

Not much welcoming party from Pepi and I...
We gave him the cold shoulder most of the time.
For sure, there was a LOT of starring competition for the first 2 days.

More starring competition...
This time it's Pepi and me...opposite him..
He's not afraid though...he seems happy exploring the entire house.

Well, that's the highlight of the past few days.  We are slowly warming up to him. He isn't bothered with us actually, he seems such a happy cat jumping and running everywhere. Pepi seems to warm up to him better...me, I stay away for now. As long as there is no shortage of food, I can live with him.

SILLY TALK

With 2 cats down and everyone slowly accepting, and life returning to normal, Pepi and I have become good friends.
We goof around, share food and play a lot.
Here's what happened yesterday..

Pepi is just jealous I got the crown.  Okay, that moustache is really silly but we needed it to humour our human family :)

Meowie....love, Princess
